💚 Our 2023 Sneaker Awards
2023 has been a great year for kicks, both on and off the court. We've seen Nike Vomero 5s take over, the Harden 7s run the NBA and Sambas make their emphatic return to sneaker culture. Let's talk about some of our favorite kicks of the year and we look back on the year 👟 (2 min read)
Brands of the Year
With 2023 coming to a close, now is a great time to look back at the sneakers and sneaker brands that made the year memorable. For example, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5s are everywhere, and new colorways continue to drop left and right 🤙

So right off the bat I’m going to say that adidas had the strongest showing of any sneaker brand in 2023. On the court it felt like everyone was wearing the adidas Harden 7, they're extremely comfortable and I’m a big fan of that sleek puffer jacket look on the shoes upper 👏
The collaboration between "The Beard" and adidas marked a new era with the release of Harden's seventh signature shoe.
Visually, the adidas Harden Vol. 7 represented the ideal progression that adidas Basketball was seeking.

With Anthony Edwards’ AE1 dropping a few days ago, it feels like we are entering an amazing chapter of 3 stripe basketball. Believe that 🗣

Now off the court, everyone was wearing adidas Sambas, full stop. If you don’t already own a pair I guarantee you know someone who has a pair. Affordable, stylish, outfit-compatible and they come in a wild variety of flavors; Sambas may have been initially introduced back in 1949, but they are clearly a timeless silhouette 🕰
Now best sneaker of the year: Pine Green Nike SB Jordan 4. Okay so I haven’t personally plopped down $500+ for these because I think that’s absurd, but just like everyone else I'm a big fan of the Jordan 4 model 🔥
For years I’ve felt like Jordan 4s were a little tough on the pinkie toe, and from what I've read online, these newly engineered SB 4s are way more comfortable when it comes to that toe box. The hype around the Pine Green 4s has made them impractical, but when they drop more sneakers in the SB 4 model, Black Cat, Military Blue etc, I’ll be sure to cop a pair as close to retail as possible 🙏
