The incoming generation of future NBA stars has begun signing sneaker deals, and the excitement is palpable. Timberwolves guard Rob Dillingham and his college roommate, Rockets guard Reed Sheppard, both signed with Nike. Meanwhile, Jared McCain (76ers), Dalton Knecht (Lakers), Stephon Castle (Spurs), and Ja'Kobe Walter (Raptors) all inked deals with Jordan Brand

Let's pump the brakes for a moment, though. These are sneaker and apparel endorsement deals, not signature sneaker deals 👇

That doesn't mean Rob, Reed, and company won't eventually get their own shoes. It's entirely possible they'll land signature deals down the line, but nothing's set in stone yet. For now, we might see these rookies in commercials or campaigns promoting Nike's latest performance basketball shoes 🤩

I've posted about various sneaker signings, but none seem to fire up the fans quite like Rob's Nike deal. Folks are itching to celebrate and support Rob Dillingham, and they're absolutely stoked about the idea of him getting his own signature kicks. The Rob 1s, the RD1s, the Shifty 1s—I've got a boatload of ideas for what Rob's sneaker could be called, and you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be a smash hit 💥

Rob's not clocking major minutes right now, but I'm optimistic he'll see more court time soon. Give it time, and he'll likely become the kind of NBA talent that deserves his very own signature shoe ⏰
