Tom Sachs x Nike

Shoutout to Tom Sachs! In an unprecedented move, the artist is selling his new sneaker, the Nikecraft general purpose shoe, at Kohls 😅

This is the second colorway of the general purpose shoe that is being released to the public. The first one was the widely popular “studio” white that released for $100 and currently resells for around $400, ouch 😩

Tom Sachs was hip to this, and after seeing the “studio” colorway fall into the hands of resellers he pledged to make his next releases more available. So by making these “general purpose” shoes available at Khols, Tom is attempting to make good on his promise. I’ll just come out and say it, I love this idea. Buying sneakers has been ruined by bots and resellers 🤖

Making these shoes available at a store like Kohls makes a ton of sense in theory, but I was pretty bummed when I called my local Kohls and learned that these were only being sold at locations hundreds of miles away. The employee who took my call seemed pretty fed up from people calling his place of work all day asking about Tom Sachs shoes. Funny times we live in 👟

McDonald's Toys!

Cynthia Lu’s brainchild Cactus Plant Flea Market just dropped a major collab with McDonalds. For those who don't know, CPFM is a streetwear brand that has already released multiple highly coveted Nike collabs and has more coming on the way 🍔

This McDonalds collab features a whole merch line etc, but the centerpiece is an adult happy meal (big mac or 10 piece nuggets + fries and drink) that comes in a special box, and most importantly comes with a limited time happy meal toy 👇

This campaign runs 10/3 - 10/10 and features four collectable figurines. I'm not gonna lie to you, I pulled up to Mickey D’s yesterday and bought one. I hadn’t been to the golden arches in years, and while the lovely ambiance inside the store hadn’t changed…the food was not good. Maybe I wasn’t in the right state of mind. but either way I couldn’t finish the nuggets or the fries and basically ended up paying $12 (inflation is trash) for this toy 😬

Now this thing is awesome and a part of me definitely wants to collect all four, but the idea of ordering 3 more McDonalds meals (and that's assuming I don't get duplicate toys) is way too gross for me to fathom, so I may have to get em online. You can get the whole set for about $70 🧸
