All-Star Weekend Sneaker Preview

NBA All-Star Weekend is one of the major sneaker release windows in the calendar year and adidas, Nike, New Balance and Reebok are all set to drop new kicks over the next few days. Here’s a good read from our friends at Sneaker News that breaks down every drop 👇

The biggest box office releases are fairly obviously: the Air Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined are dropping on 2/17 along with the adidas AE 1 “All-Star” ⭐️

These two releases aren’t really competing to share the billing, but it’s fun to compare the two sneakers / sneaker brands. Nike is bringing back a bonafide classic in the Bred 4, possibly the greatest Jordan of all time is getting a weatherized tumbled leather update. Some great campaigns around it as well 🙏

There was a lot of negative talk about these sneakers and the new materials when photos of the Bred 4 surfaced online, but now that I’ve gotten to see enough pictures I feel like they're really excellent and they’ll end up being considered classics in time. If I had to guess I would say these will resell for $1k+ in the coming years 👀

And in the other corner of the ring we have adidas, rolling out a pair of sleek AE 1s in a brand new metallic colorway. These AE 1s feel like a massive moment for adidas because they’ve got the right athlete with the right shoe at the right time 🐜

Obviously the Ant Edwards comparisons to MJ are a little odee and overstated, but it really does feel like the AE 1 could be the beginning of a major signature line for adidas basketball. He’s so damn good I love him 💀

Plenty of other drops to keep an eye on this weekend, All-Star weekend can get hectic as you know. Here’s a few I like 👏
