Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gigi”

This week we got our first look at the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gigi” expected to release on Gigi Bryant’s birthday, May 1, for $180. This is obviously an extremely emotional shoe drop that I imagine Nike and the Bryant family will handle with the utmost care 🙏

Despite the immense sentimental value, I’m concerned that resellers have no heart and won't hesitate to cop these out. It's ultimately a nasty world and these worms will not hesitate to buy up every size and hike up the price. Not even grade school sizes are safe I'm afraid to say. I have some ideas about what Nike can do to make sure that these sneakers end up in the hands of those who deserve them and will put them to good use. Here's some context 👇

Nike and Vanessa Bryant should join forces to make sure that these are seeded to Girls HS and AAU basketball teams. Kobe Bryant was extremely passionate about women's basketball and he was eager to grow the women's game in any way he could. By giving a majority of these sneakers to female hoopers, we can make sure that these kicks are being worn by those who are actually going to play basketball in them

• Nothing is worse than imagining a whole cache of these Kobes sitting in some resellers basement, or even worse, sitting on the shelf of a “collector” who won't wear them 🥴
