🤢 Nike's Shocking Decision to Bring Back an Old Basic
The controversial return of Nike's Panda Dunks. I'm not happy, are you? (2 min read)
The Panda Dunk is Back for 2025
Nike just announced the Panda Dunks are returning in 2025, and many fans of tasteful sneakers are shocked and dismayed—myself included. These bland and ubiquitous sneakers have become a fashion staple for people with questionable taste 😐
“they’re called the Panda Dunks, if you walk around SoHo basically everyone is wearing them. Some old heads hate them just cuz they’re popular, but if you ask me, they’re a really nice colorway”

Some argue the hate is unwarranted, claiming the sneakers are wearable and acceptable. I'm not interested in debating with swaggerless people, so if they think the shoes are okay to wear, that's fine by me 🤷

The real question is: why? Why is Nike once again producing a shoe they've released countless times? A shoe that's becoming synonymous with the Swoosh's downfall. There was a time when these Dunks were all the rage, regularly reselling for $300+. Now they're certified bricks that not even your mama or auntie should wear 🧱

I understand that for many, they represent an accessible entry point to Nike—a "My First Nike," if you will. Sure, they're black and white, wearable, and "match" with a lot of stuff. But that doesn't mean you should wear them, and it certainly doesn't mean Nike should release them again 😿

With Nike bringing in a new CEO, you'd think they'd steer away from moves like this. But in reality, maybe they're doubling down on bricks like the Panda Dunks.
Let me be clear: I love Nike and respect the brand immensely. I wear their sneakers almost every day and am directly invested in their products. That's precisely why I want them to do better 🚀
