🇺🇸 Obama's PE Hyperdunks
Presidential kicks has a nice ring to it. A few years back, Sotheby's listed a pair of Obama Player Exclusive Hyperdunks for auction, with the first bid starting at $25K. In an era where game worn jerseys go for big bucks, these were surely worth a pretty penny. How much would you bid? 💰 (2 min read)

Obama Hyperdunks
Everyone knows Barack Obama is a huge hoops fan from his attendance of some of the sports biggest games and his annual March Madness bracket. The rumors of his White House basketball run goes deep. A few years ago, a pair Obama Player Exclusive Hyperdunks were listed for auction on Sotheby’s starting at $25K. How much would you pay to own Obama PEs? Only two pairs exist 🤯
Back in 2009 when President Obama was serving his first term, Nike got him right with these white and blue presidential player exclusives, featuring the presidential crest on the tongue and 44 on the toe box 💧

This exact same colorway was created for the 2008 US Men's Olympic team that won gold in Beijing, restoring glory and honor to the stars and stripes 🇺🇸

Of the two pairs in existence, one is still in Obama’s possession, while the other pair was listed at Sothebys for a whopping $25K a few years back. And mind you, this other pair is a sample, so these are most likely some size 9 kicks that were never even worn by the man himself 😏
Sotheby’s is auctioning off a pair of Nike Hyperdunk Barack Obama Player Exclusives on Friday, February 12th at 4:44 PM ET to celebrate his legacy as the 44th President of the United States.
The starting price is $25,000.

Considering how expensive game worn jerseys are on the resale market, I can only imagine that the pair that Obama himself wore would probably be worth a small fortune to any historical/political memorabilia collector. Jordans that Michael Jordan wore during the defining moments of his Bulls career typically sell at auction for around a million bucks…makes you wonder 💰
Which kicks would you rather own? |
