Odell Sues Nike
Odell Beckham is suing Nike for $20M. Yes you read that correctly, 20 Millions. The famous free agent wideout is alleging that Nike withheld millions that they were contractually obligated to pay him. Take a look at his contract π

As I understand it, Nike is alleging that Odell violated the terms of his Nike contract by wearing custom cleats and gloves during his time with the Los Angeles Rams. Odell wore a ton of incredible cleats last season, however from what we could tell, he was primarily wearing Shoe Surgeon customs π

For those who don't already know, the Shoe Surgeon is a famous sneaker customizer who regularly creates bespoke custom sneakers for his celebrity clientele. When these customs first appeared on Odellβs feet, I honestly wondered if they violated the terms of his contract. I mean the cleats were technically Nike shoes, but it's not like you could buy them from Nike π

These were custom one of one croc skin sneakers, the cleats were basically priceless pieces of hand made art that are not available to the general public. In that sense, it doesnβt do Nike much good to have Odell wearing these customs. If the idea behind the multi-million dollar deal was that Odell was going to be promoting Nike cleats on field, then he failed to make good on that deal.
