💧 SGA Re-Signs with Converse

The best-dressed player in the league and coolest guy I know, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, has officially re-signed with Converse and is their new Creative Director of Basketball. Any brand would be lucky to have SGA, so this is a big win for Converse. Thunder playoff push starts Sunday 👀 (2 min read)

SGA Re-Signs with Converse

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has re-signed with Converse, announcing a new signature shoe and notifying us that the will also serve as the new Creative Director of Converse Basketball 💧

Locking the future MVP into a multi-year deal, this is a major win for Converse. Shai is widely considered the most fashionable player in the NBA, so realistically any brand would be happy to sign him and inherit his proximal cool factor. The stats don’t lie 👇

SGA is already the face of the Converse weapon, a sneaker that was initially introduced in 1984 with campaigns featuring Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. This is marketing from the 80s, what a time 🎬

One could argue that without the Converse weapon, sneakers and basketball wouldn’t be where they are today. Shai’s signature shoe will undoubtedly be a performance basketball shoe, but I would be very surprised if there wasn’t an off-the-court more lifestyle oriented sneaker that releases with SGA’s branding 😮‍💨

Will his logo feature all three letters? S G and A? I’ve heard whispers that Shai prefers to go by his first name and not the three initials, so I wouldn't be surprised if his logo doesn’t feature ‘SGA’ 📝

Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1 has caught a lot of flack for being too lifestyle oriented, but considering that Nike owns converse I would say there is a high likelihood that Shai’s shoe is super wearable off court 💼

The Thunder shocked the league this season, finishing at the top of the crowded Western Conference. They will take on the winner of the Pelicans vs. Kings game tonight to kick off their playoff campaign. Speaking of OKC, Chet Holmgren had a rookie season for the ages. Peep Boardroom’s exclusive interview with one of the league’s next up 👇

In their new cover story, Boardroom's co-founder Rich Kleiman sits down with OKC star Chet Holmgren to to talk about how he processed, reassessed, and reinvented his approach to the game after injury, how he's found himself in a tight race to Rookie Of The Year with San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama, and what it's like playing across from legends like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry 🏀
