Unreleased Yeezy Sambas

Thanks to a recent release of first-look imagery, we now know adidas and Kanye West almost dropped a Yeezy Samba, seemingly surrounding the 2018 release of ye aka “I hate being Bi-Polar its Awesome”. The widely publicized sessions for the recording of this album took place on Kanye's vast ranch in Wyoming, this thread (actually five years ago) gives some good context ⛰

Now back then, the adidas Samba wasn’t popping like it is now…these shoes were not hyped and they weren’t being worn in the way they are today. The classic Samba’s are always super sleek with the low key white and black leather, but these Kanye samples are a puffy suede skateboarding style shoe 👇

Apparently designer ASAP Bari, aka Young Lord, leaked a high top version of these back in 2019, but I don’t remember there being a buzz surrounding them. Maybe if these came out today they'd have a little more energy around them considering how popular the silhouette is now 🤝

Back in the day I used to wear Sambas to play soccer and now they are being worn by models like they used to wear the grey New Balance 990. Oh the times how they are a changing 😇
